Hello, my name is Sally Morrall (@morrallofthestory on Instagram), and I’m a fine artist and illustrator based in the UK.
I specialise in pencil-sketched pet portraits, though I enjoy painting wildlife too, and in more recent times I’ve exercised my love of illustration and character concepts through both traditional and digital art.
Something many come to learn about me is my love for all things Disney. I've combined my skills in fine art and illustration to create my own interpretations of Disney characters in parodied narratives. Although creating these pieces is a hobby, I hope to someday make these works available for fans alike by becoming a licensed Disney Fine Artist.
As well as creating art, I love to write. For years now I’ve been working on a novel, which I hope to get published someday, though for now it’s a fun hobby that remains a working progress. I also have a blog where I like to write about projects; these are mainly for my own recollection, but I hope others may find them an interesting read.
Commissions - Process & Pricing
If you'd like get a commission done by me, below is all the information you need to know, including sizing and pricing. If you require more information, or there's a specific question you'd like to ask that isn't covered by the information here, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact form at the bottom of this page!
The Process
1. The first step is to peruse my site and see what’s on offer; if you see something you like and have you own idea for a piece you'd like done, for instance a pet portrait, decide on the size you'd like, and also how many pets will be in the portrait. Please keep in mind each artwork varies in the time it takes to create; if there is a specific date you need the piece done by then please let me know and ensure you allow enough time beforehand, I recommend a month or more in advance if possible just to be safe.

2. Next, find references relating to the subject matter (photos of your pet(s) if having a pet portrait commissioned). This can be an existing picture or a new photo if possible, whichever you decide please be sure that the photo is of good quality; the better the resolution the better the detail will be in the overall portrait. I would always advise sorting out several pictures as these can also help towards creating the portrait.

3. Once you’ve selected your references/photos and you know what size you’d like the piece to be, please get in touch and let’s talk! I like the process to be collaborative, so I will keep you updated on the portrait throughout, and I’m open to any suggestions you may have.

4.When the specifics of the commission are agreed, a deposit of 50% is required upfront to secure the commission. Payment can be made via bank transfer. Once the work is completed I will contact you with a final picture for approval and, providing you are happy with the piece, I will ask for the remaining payment to be made.

5.Finally, once payment is complete, I will send the artwork out via Royal Mail. Please be assured every effort to keep the portrait safe through delivery will be made.
